Face to face 8.30am to 4.30pm. Live online 10am to 5.30pm AEST. Registration is through Arlo and takes about two minutes. Training a team? Ask about in-house training.
What you leave able to do
Understand what the investigators did. The method, the resources it takes and the quality standard people are working to.
Review critically. Whether the analysis reached organisational factors or stopped at the person.
Assess the recommendations. Will they reduce risk and the chance of recurrence, or only add process.
Sign off with assurance. Know what your approval commits the organisation to.
You approve investigations or set the standard for them
Senior management and people appointed as Approving Officers for incident investigations.
What it costs, what you get
- ICAM Australia workbook
- Certificate of Attendance
- Catering at face to face courses
What the half day covers
A half day that reads real reports against the method, so the review skills are practised rather than described.
- The ICAM method from the approver's seat
- Resources and time a proper investigation needs
- Reviewing an analysis for depth
- Assessing recommendations for risk reduction
- The governance role and what sign-off commits to
Every attendee since June 2026 is asked. This is what they said.
All responses counted, none selected.
Training a team? Bring it on site
We adapt the course to your procedures, templates and terminology and run it at your site. More than about six people and it is usually the better option.
Not sure this is the right course?
Tell us what you are asked to do after an incident and we will tell you which course fits. It takes about five minutes on the phone.
